MQuan Studio / Ceramic Sculpture

MQuan Studio is based in Saugerties, NY and creates handmade ceramic art and objects rooted in ideas of impermanence and inter-connectivity. Stoneware forms are handbuilt or thrown on the wheel and all pieces are hand painted and fired in a gas kiln. Michele Quan’s work, known for it’s ‘stone-like’ texture and feel comes from her use of ‘grog’ which is clay that has been fired, ground up, and re-wedged into the clay – adding “tooth” to the material. Hand dyed cotton, brass, wood & hemp rope are also elements utilized. Visual symbols of eastern iconography influence the pieces and point to the heart and experience of living.

SHIPPING: All orders for artwork are shipped insured UPS with a delivery signature required. Please contact us directly to request a shipping quote. Pieces over 50lbs or 1728 cubic feet will require freight services.

TAXES: NY State Sales Tax applies to all orders picked up in or shipped to NY State.
