Dana McClure / Mixed Media
Dana McClure is a New York-based artist whose work in collage, painting, photography, and printmaking develops a visual language rooted in subconscious response and informed decision-making. Her process begins with a defined set of parameters — material, scale, color, or imagery — which she then deconstructs and transforms through intuitive, responsive engagement with each medium, opening onto new discoveries and endless variations in form.
Alongside her husband, chef Chris Lanier, Dana runs Ravenwood — a community space in Upstate New York that integrates art and food. The couple's small flower farm serves as both backdrop and source material: homegrown blooms find their way into her compositions as photographs, paintings, collage elements, and pressed petals, with much of the resulting work displayed in the farm's seasonal barn space.
Her practice straddles art and design: she has art directed print, motion, and interactive projects for commercial, non-profit, and cultural clients worldwide, with commissions including Microsoft and the 5-star Conrad hotel in Dubai. A graduate of Syracuse University (BA) and Parsons The New School for Design (MFA), she taught for ten years at NYU and Parsons before turning her focus to self-initiated work.
